Biography

Caara Yeung is a Canadian flutist known for her expressive playing and thoughtful programming. She has performed at major venues across Asia, Europe and North America, including the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Brussels’ Théâtre Royal du Parc, Vancouver’s Chan Centre, and prominent Toronto venues such as St. Andrew’s Church and the Arts & Letters Club. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Waterloo Chamber Orchestra and Mons Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, performing solo and chamber works at festivals throughout Canada and Europe.

Caara earned her Master’s degree with highest distinction from the Royal Conservatoire de Mons, studying under Marc Grauwels, and holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from the University of British Columbia, where she studied with Christie Reside. She has further refined her artistry through master classes with renowned flutists Patrick Gallois, Philippe Bernold, Michael Martin Kofler, Loïc Schneider, and Julien Beaudiment at international festivals including Domaine Forget and Académie Internationale d’Été de Nice, Järvi Academy…

An advocate for contemporary neoclassical music, Caara gave the Canadian premieres of Flute and Piano Sonatas by French composers Nicolas Bacri and Corentin Boissier in July 2025. She is also passionate about curating innovative concert experiences, such as her 2024 Van Gogh-themed wine-pairing recital, aimed at making classical music more accessible to diverse audiences.

Caara is an Emerging Artist with Miyazawa Flutes and performs on a 14K Cresta gold Miyazawa flute.
